Saginaw Summer Fun
Summer is approaching and so are all the fun events in and around Saginaw. There are plenty of options for everyone, and many events continue all summer long. It’s best if you can start from a central location like Camelot Place, apartments in Saginaw, MI. Once you have your starting point, all that’s left to do is get out and enjoy all that the summer has to offer!
#1: Downtown Saginaw Farmers’ Market
Nothing says summer quite like fresh, local, seasonal produce and products from the farmers’ market. The market takes place at SVRC Marketplaces and opens May 24th and runs through October 28th. The market is open during the week on Wednesdays and Fridays and will add Mondays starting July 3rd through August 28th. You can also come every Saturday, which is always kids’ day, and now also includes wares from local artisans.
#2:Farm & Flea Market at the Bridgeport Historical Village
Take a short drive to enjoy this unique farm and flea market. It takes place every Thursday starting in June and ending in September. You can stroll through booths from all kinds of vendors from 10 AM to 4 PM. There are also theme days if you have a particular kind of item you’re searching for. The themes include Vintage Day, Mom to Mom, Holiday, and more.
#3:The Original Old Town Saginaw Art Fair
Old Town Saginaw is already a special place since it’s the historical heart of Saginaw. It’s the location of the very first art fair in Saginaw, and that tradition continues on June 8th from 11 AM to 7 PM. This special one-time event features plenty of local art and artists. You’ll be able to chat with them about their art while you also enjoy free activities and live demonstrations. There are even food vendors so you can snack as you shop.
#4:Party on McCarty Summer Concert Series
Make your way to the Saginaw Township Soccer Complex for some fun with live music. Concerts start June 15th and run through August 17th. Each night has a theme that lets you pick a musical genre to suit you, like 80s night or country, or some adult-focused nights like Craft Beer Night Mix or Margarita Night. You are asked to bring your own seats, but there are food and beverages available onsite.
#5:The Middle of the Mitten Yarn Crawl
Do you have that one friend (or maybe you are that one friend) who is about all things knitting, crocheting, and general yarn crafting? Then you can enjoy this unique event from July 20th through July 29th. This “yarn crawl” takes you all across mid-Michigan and north as you visit participating vendors. You pick one store to start at and grab your “passport” there. After that, you can visit however many stores you like and enjoy things like prizes and tote bags.
